云南省 recently announced a series of measures to boost agricultural development through modern infrastructure construction. The focus is on enhancing the province's water resources management and irrigation systems to support high-quality growth in its特色 agriculture sector.

According to the plans,云南 will initiate 39 large-scale and 92 medium-sized new irrigation projects, while renovating 12 large and 175 medium灌区. Once completed, these efforts will add 14.01 million acres of irrigable land and improve water supply for an additional 12.07 million acres, raising the irrigation rate to 52%.

These projects align with云南's agricultural development strategy, known as "五区四带," which emphasizes efficient use of water resources across different regions. The goal is to create a modern irrigation system that ensures water availability during dry seasons and manages floodwater effectively, while also integrating agricultural machinery and improving transportation infrastructure in rural areas.

Based on regional characteristics,云南 will implement tailored strategies for different areas: plains will focus on enhancing water supply reliability; gentle hilly regions will prioritize both irrigation efficiency and soil conservation; and dry valleys will address existing gaps in水利设施. Special attention will be given to major and medium-sized灌区 projects like ZhaoLu, with efforts to upgrade their infrastructure and improve water management systems.
